Seeking a Pasta Machine for Polymer Clay?
I have a terrific heavy duty Altas, which I make dinner with – but that’s not what I mean. I’m seeking a craft pasta machine with teflon braers, hopefully specifically for polymer clay. A hand crank and clamp is fine, if it has the ability to take on electric power, all the better.
First, you’d be better off these days using your terrific heavy duty Atlas for polymer clay and buying another pasta machine for dough because the pasta machines available nowadays (even the ones made in Italy) aren’t nearly as good as they used to be. OTOH, the softer dough that’s used to make pasta doesn’t require a really good pasta machine.
You can find lots of info on various pasta machines that clayers have used or are using, along with their various problems, on this page at my polymer clay "encyclopedia":

I’m not sure that any of the models has "Teflon" coating, and the plastics that some of them are using (for bars, gears, scrapers, etc.) are less than satisfactory. There have been a few "made for polymer clay," but mostly they’re just repackaged ones made in the Far East, or they’ve been recalled for problems and the clay companies are still working on them.
HTH, though it’s kind of a can of worms these days,
